An exceptional weekend of passion and excellence!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its third year, the Diamex Master Groomer<\/strong> competition once again attracted professional groomers from Belgium and abroad. These dog grooming enthusiasts met up on 12 and 13 April 2025 for a weekend of excellence. Through the various categories in competition, everyone had the opportunity to showcase their skills and techniques, helping to raise the profile of the profession nationally and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An intense competition in which the talent and precision of the groomers take centre stage! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durant deux journ\u00e9es intenses plac\u00e9es sous le signe de la passion et de l\u2019excellence, les comp\u00e9titeurs ont eu l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de participer \u00e0 plusieurs cat\u00e9gories. Parmi les 12 propos\u00e9es, sept d’entre elles \u00e9taient les cat\u00e9gories officielle de l’EGA : Beginner, Intermediate, Handstripping, Pure Breed, Spaniel & Setter, Standard Poodle<\/strong> and Toy & Medium Poodle<\/strong>which promote technical expertise while respecting breed standards. The remaining five categories highlighted creativity, with the Asian Style<\/strong>category, commercial know-how, with the Doodles<\/strong> and Workshop<\/strong>categories, groomers still in training, with the Student Class<\/strong>, et le travail d’\u00e9quipe, avec la cat\u00e9gorie Double Master Groomer<\/strong> (Duo) category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each performance was meticulously assessed by a prestigious international jury<\/strong>made up of leading figures from the world of grooming: Toshinori Omura, Olga Zabelinskaya, Paola Acco, Magali Delaye, Umberto Lehmann<\/strong> and Kitty Ponnet<\/strong>Renowned for their expert eye, kindly approach and passion for grooming, these judges brought to the event a level of high standards and recognition that matched the ambitions of the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the weekend, the contestants showed unfailing commitment, combining rigour and precision. Each gesture, executed with meticulousness, revealed their technical mastery and their passion for grooming. Their determination to give their very best lit up every moment of the competition. We would like to warmly congratulate them on their dedication, talent and the quality of their work, which all contributed to making this an unforgettable event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce week-end a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9 non seulement par le talent et le savoir-faire des participants, mais aussi par leur gentillesse, leur fair-play et leur solidarit\u00e9. Une ambiance profond\u00e9ment bienveillante s\u2019est install\u00e9e naturellement, m\u00ealant professionnalisme et convivialit\u00e9. Cette atmosph\u00e8re, o\u00f9 la comp\u00e9tition c\u00f4toie l\u2019entraide, incarne pleinement ce que nous souhaitons pour le concours Diamex Master Groomer. Une fois de plus, cette \u00e9dition nous rappelle que le DMG n\u2019est pas simplement un concours : c\u2019est un lieu de rencontres, de partages, d’apprentissage, de passion, et de moments v\u00e9cus ensemble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning moments guided by exceptional Master Groomers!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the competition itself, the weekend provided an exceptional opportunity for participants and visitors alike to experience not only the excitement of high-level competition, but also to learn directly from the Master Groomers. Not only did these experts brilliantly take on the role of judge throughout the weekend, they also generously shared their expertise through exceptional grooming demonstrations, allowing everyone to deepen their knowledge, acquire new skills and enrich their experience with the most advanced techniques and invaluable advice from grooming luminaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toshinori Omura<\/strong>, a world-renowned expert in poodle grooming and one of the best poodle breeders in the world, did us the honour of not only judging the competition, but also putting on two top-level demonstrations: a Continental clip<\/strong>executed with remarkable precision and elegance, as well as a Puppy clip<\/strong>, mettant en valeur toute la douceur rappelant l’allure d’un chiot. Excellent p\u00e9dagogue, il a partag\u00e9 de pr\u00e9cieux conseils et astuces, faisant de ses d\u00e9monstrations de v\u00e9ritables moments de partage et d\u2019apprentissage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fox Terrier seminar<\/strong> hosted by Magali Delaye<\/strong> also made a big impression. A true Terrier expert, she shared her knowledge of trimming<\/strong>, discipline qu\u2019elle ma\u00eetrise \u00e0 la perfection. Son approche p\u00e9dagogique et g\u00e9n\u00e9reuse a su captiver l\u2019attention des participants, qu\u2019ils soient d\u00e9butants ou exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s. Magali transmet non seulement des techniques pr\u00e9cises et rigoureuses, mais aussi tout l’amour qu\u2019elle porte \u00e0 son m\u00e9tier. \u00c0 travers son enseignement, elle communique sa passion, inspirant chacun \u00e0 repousser ses limites et \u00e0 viser l\u2019excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theoretical seminar on scissors<\/strong>, anim\u00e9 par Paola Acco<\/strong>led by Paola Acco, renowned specialist and creator of the AKKO Scissors<\/a><\/strong>brand, was a real technical masterclass. She shared a wealth of valuable knowledge on how to choose and use scissors depending on the type of hair and the desired result<\/strong>. From the difference between convex, bevelled or micro-serrated blades, to the subtleties of sculpting, straight or curved scissors, every aspect was covered with clarity and precision. Paola also passed on practical techniques for optimising handling, achieving natural gradations without demarcation, avoiding common mistakes and saving cutting time. A wealth of content, perfectly suited to groomers who want to refine their technique and fully master their equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olga Zabelinskaya<\/strong>, a veritable star of the US grooming scene, specialising in standard cuts that she masters with exemplary rigour, is also an undisputed benchmark in the Asian Style<\/strong>, a creative world that she is particularly fond of. She gave us a demonstration of originality and finesse, grooming the head of a poodle followed by that of a Bichon Frise, in this unique style combining technical precision and artistic expression. Her performance captivated the audience, illustrating both the mastery of form and the freedom of interpretation allowed by the Asian Style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
