The Diamex Master Groomer competition will officially begin on Saturday 24 April 2027 at 9:00 <\/strong>(pre-judging at 8:00). Whether you\u2019re a rising star or a seasoned expert, come and showcase your skills at this exceptional competition.<\/p>\n

Asian Style<\/h3>\n

Rules:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n

The competitor must create an artistic, creative, and exuberant Asian-style groom, with particular emphasis on demonstrating excellent scissoring skills.
\nThis category is not intended for commercial grooming. Instead, it encourages a personal interpretation of Asian style, with original silhouettes, volumes, and shapes, while maintaining a harmonious and cohesive overall result.
\nAccessories such as bows, ribbons, decorated collars, clothing, and other ornamental elements are permitted and strongly encouraged. However, they must be added during the competition and remain visible at all times.
\nThe competitor may participate with a dog of their choice, whether purebred or mixed-breed, and regardless of its size.
\nColouring and painting are prohibited in accordance with Belgian legislation.<\/p>\n

Beginner<\/h3>\n

Are you new to the world of dog shows and have less than two years\u2019 experience in grooming? Then this category is for you! Come and showcase the full extent of your budding talent and gain some experience.<\/p>\n

All breeds:<\/strong><\/em> 2:30<\/p>\n

Rules:<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A competitor is considered a beginner if they have less than two years of experience. Dog shows count as experience.
\nA competitor may participate as a beginner in several competitions over a period of 12 months, even if they win. In their second year, the competitor must move up to the Intermediate category, even if they have not won in the Beginner category.
\nOnce a competitor moves up to the Intermediate category following a win in the Beginner category, they will no longer be permitted to compete as a beginner.
\nThe competitor must participate with a purebred dog, adhering to the breed standard and applying the appropriate techniques.
\nFor the applicable techniques and rules, please refer to the \u201cGeneral Grooming Rules\u201d section of the category correspon ding to the breed of the dog presented.<\/p>\n

Handstripping<\/h3>\n

Designed for those with a passion for coarse hair, this competition will showcase your technique and precision when it comes to hair removal.<\/p>\n

Timings without a mower:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Small or medium-sized dog:<\/strong><\/em> 2:30
\nLarge dog:<\/strong><\/em> 3 hours<\/span><\/p>\n

Timings when using a trimmer:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Small dog:<\/strong> <\/em>2:00
\n<\/span>Medium-sized dog:<\/strong> <\/em>2 hours 15 minutes
\n<\/span>Large dog:<\/strong><\/em> 2:30<\/span><\/p>\n

Rules:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Stripping knives are allowed.
\nDog needs to be groomed according to the breed standard.
\nColored Chalk powder\/block\/spray and cream is allowed.
\nIt is not allowed to use clippers except:
\n\u2022 Scottish Terrier: Chest, head and ears
\n\u2022 West Highland Terrier: Chest and ears
\n\u2022 Schnauzer:Chest, head, inside of the hind legs <\/span>and ear<\/p>\n
